Meet Martin

Martin joined our team in 2025 as a Member Services Officer, which is a great fit as he has a passion for helping people. Prior to joining our team, Martin was the Store Director at Festival Foods, where he loved building teams and interacting with guests. Over the years, he has shared his time and talents with the community by serving on the boards of Rotary, MACCI and United Way.

Giving back to the community matters deeply to Martin, and along with a genuine enthusiasm for personal finance, the emphasis MMCCU puts on giving back to the community inspired Martin to join this team. “My grandfather was an orphan living on the streets of Milwaukee. One day, while he was sleeping on a bench in front of the downtown library, a car pulled up alongside him. The driver woke him up saying the gentleman in the car wanted to speak with him. In the car was Neil Norris, grandson of early Milwaukee pioneer Daniel Wells, Jr.”

“Mr. Norris offered my grandfather a job on his farm with room and board on one additional condition: that my grandfather must also go to school. In the end, the Norris family fundamentally changed my grandfather’s life. They gave him food and shelter when he had none, taught him to work hard and to value his education, and went on to help him through college. My grandfather honored that kindness as a dedicated educator in the Milwaukee Public School System, guiding and inspiring young people throughout his career.”

“Here at MMCCU, I love that my job allows me to help our members find what works best for them. I also appreciate how passionate MMCCU is about giving back to the community, working to make it a better place for all to call home.”

In his free time, Martin loves birdwatching and exploring nature while hiking through the nearby Mead and McMillan Marshes. You may find him out there in any season, as he firmly believes that there is no such thing as bad weather, just poor clothing choices. Martin has completed the WI DNR carnivore tracking course and loves to read winter tracks and the stories that they tell about our local wolves, fishers, otters and bobcats.

Martin is usually out there adventuring with his wife, Sarah — who you may know from Marshfield Area United Way; their two adult children and their enormous dogs.
