Just-for-Kids Programs at the Credit Union
Summer is here, and with it comes the perfect opportunity to teach your kids about good money practices. With school out, now is an ideal time to introduce them to financial responsibility in a fun and engaging way. At MMCCU, we offer fantastic programs designed to help your children learn the value of saving and smart spending. Here are two of our favorites: the Kids Rewards Club and the Greenlight Debit Card. Kids Rewards Club: Start Saving Early
Our Kids Rewards Club is a youth savings account specially designed to encourage good money habits from a young age. It’s open to anyone under the age of 18, and we invite parents or guardians to bring their kids in to sign up.
Benefits:
- Free Piggy Bank: Every new account comes with a free piggy bank to help your child start saving.
- Punch Card with Prizes: Kids can accumulate rewards over time, receiving punches for deposits and visits to the credit union.
- Special Opportunities: Enjoy additional prize opportunities throughout the year, including on your child’s birthday and during International Credit Union Week.
- High-Interest Savings: Earn 4.50% APY on deposits up to $2,500. When your child turns 18, the account transitions into an MMCCU savings account automatically.
Greenlight Debit Card
The Greenlight Debit Card, along with its app, provides a comprehensive financial education platform for kids. This tool helps children learn to earn money through chores, set savings goals, make informed spending decisions, and even explore the world of investing. Parents, meanwhile, can enjoy peace of mind with flexible controls and real-time notifications of their children’s transactions.
