This festive season, we teamed up with Marshfield Area United Way in an effort to make a meaningful impact on the lives of underprivileged families in the community. Local food pantries are in high-demand, so we wanted to take a proactive approach to support families in need during these challenging times.
MMCCU purchased and staff helped pack 65 Christmas meals, carefully curated to bring joy and warmth to those facing financial hardships this holiday season. Each family receiving a Christmas box will find a complete festive meal, including a succulent ham, potatoes, gravy, green beans, pie, and all the trimmings to create a delicious Christmas feast.
David Murphy, President of MMCCU, expressed the credit union’s commitment to community and the core values that define credit unions. “Credit unions are all about community, and we believe in giving back to those who need it the most. This holiday season, we wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families facing challenges. Our goal is to spread joy and show that we are here for our community.”
The local food pantries, which typically provide support during this time of year, are facing unprecedented demand, leaving them overwhelmed. We recognized the urgency of the situation and targeted assistance towards families enrolled in the Nutrition on Weekends program.
