Marshfield Medical Center Credit Union (MMCCU) proudly announces its participation in the first-ever CU Community Day in Wisconsin. CU Community Day, an initiative aimed at fostering cooperation among credit unions and enhancing their commitment to community well-being, saw MMCCU staff actively engage in a day of volunteer service.
CU Community Day is a statewide event that encourages credit unions across Wisconsin to contribute meaningfully to their local communities. The event aligns perfectly with the Cooperative Principles that credit unions hold dear, specifically focusing on the sixth principle – Cooperation Among Cooperatives – and the seventh principle – Concern for the Community.
MMCCU, a steadfast advocate for community involvement, demonstrated its unwavering commitment to these principles as President David Murphy and the MMCCU staff volunteered their time and efforts at the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield. This compassionate act reflects MMCCU’s dedication to making a positive impact on the community it serves.
President David Murphy expressed his enthusiasm for participating in CU Community Day, saying, “At MMCCU, we believe in the power of cooperation and in giving back to our community. CU Community Day provides an excellent opportunity for us to join hands with fellow credit unions and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. We are proud to support the Ronald McDonald House and contribute to their vital mission.”
The Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield serves as a home away from home for families with children receiving medical care at Marshfield Medical Center. The MMCCU team worked diligently to provide assistance and support to these families during their stay, embodying the credit union’s commitment to community well-being.
MMCCU encourages other credit unions, businesses, and organizations to participate in similar community-focused initiatives to create a lasting positive impact. By working together, credit unions can continue to promote the principles of cooperation and community concern that are at the core of the credit union movement.
