Mary Jo Knobloch is the newest member of the MMCCU Board of Directors. Mary Jo was born and raised in LaCrosse, WI, and moved to Marshfield in 1986 for a job at St. Joseph’s Hospital Education Department.
She has a Masters in Public Health and a PhD in Health Services Research in Pharmacy from UW Madison. She worked for Marshfield Clinic from 1990 – 2010, primarily in infectious disease/antibiotic resistance research with Dr. Edward Belongia, and at the National Farm Medicine Center for 9 years.
She has also served as the Senior Program Manager in the Wisconsin Partnership Program at UW School of Medicine and Public Health, and has been a Researcher at the UW Department of Medicine in Infectious Disease, and a Research Health Scientist at the Madison VA, focusing on topic areas of Infectious Disease and Antibiotic Resistance.
Mary Jo has been featured in approximately 40 publications and as a speaker at state and national conferences, and is an accomplished grant writer.
She currently teaches creative writing part time as a volunteer at Shoreless Lake School in Sauk City. Her hobbies include long-distance walking, hiking, golfing, snow shoeing, reading and writing.
Mary Jo lives in Sauk City with her husband of 42 years, Timothy, and has two children and five grandchildren. Both Children attended Columbus Catholic High School.
