Andrew Weier is the “newest” member of the MMCCU Board of Directors, though he isn’t a stranger to being on the Board – having served from 2014-2019 before moving out of the area.

He was happy to rejoin when the opportunity became available, believing strongly that credit unions have a unique role to serve in the financial market, by being member-owned and focused.

Andy has a strong background in the medical field. He attended UW-Platteville and has a BS in Economics, and then attended UW-Milwaukee for a MA in Economics emphasizing in Econometrics.

He started working at Marshfield Medical Research Foundation in 1989 as a researcher/programmer.  In 2000, he shifted and started overseeing clinical registries shared between Marshfield Clinic/Ministry Health Care (Ascension).  When Ascension acquired MHC, he shifted focus for Ascension WI clinical analytics, before leaving in 2018 and moving to Oconomowoc.

Since then, he has served as VP of an analytics company, director of actuarial services for an insurance company, and then came full circle to rejoin Ascension in his current role as manager for Ascension Clinical Analytics Registries Services.

“This allowed us to move back to Marshfield late last year,” he said.

Besides MMCCU, he has also served on the Board of Directors for Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (2003-2021) serving as various roles up through Chairman of the Board and Wisconsin Economic Association (1993-2019) also servings as numerous roles up through President.

As an MMCCU volunteer Board Member, he is most looking forward to “helping out wherever needed to assure MMCCU remains a strong and vibrant financial institution to serve our members.”

“My wife and I area really glad to be back in the community and back in with MMCCU. Our three ‘girls’ are grown, married and moved on, but for us, Marshfield is home to us.  We have one grandson and another grandchild on the way in January!” he said.
