In celebration of Credit Union Youth Month, art students from local elementary schools helped decorate approximately 650 teller cash envelopes that will be distributed at MMCCU starting Monday, May 6.

Students from Grant, Nasonville, Washington, and Madison Elementary Schools in Marshfield, Spencer Elementary, Auburndale Elementary, Immanuel Lutheran Schools, Trinity Lutheran School, and St John the Baptist Primary School participated. As a “thank-you” for participating, each school’s art program received a $125 VISA gift card.

“Our goal with this initiative was to bring joy to members and local kids, as well as to help encourage financial education,” said Stephanie Rasmussen, Accountant and HR Specialist at MMCCU. “We also wanted to help support arts in the classroom, so this seemed like a fun way to do it!”

During CU Youth Month in April, MMCCU supplied art classes with blank teller envelopes. The students decorated these envelopes and returned them to MMCCU.

“We have some really creative local kids! I’m excited to hand these out to members,” said Rasmussen. “We have a Kids Rewards Club youth savings account and Greenlight Debit Card for kids option, so we look forward to continuing financial education for local youth.”

Throughout the month, MMCCU will also be sharing some of the youth drawings on their Facebook page.

MMCCU is independent and not affiliated with any specific medical facility. Membership is composed of people that work in medical-related fields, and their families. This means anyone from doctors to chiropractors to veterinary technicians, and much more are part of this exclusive membership group. If you get a paycheck from a medical-related business, chances are good you qualify – even if you don’t specifically do a medical job, such as custodian or receptionist.
