Locally, MMCCU can provide a Medallion Stamp Guarantee, which verifies your identity for the transfer of securities (such as the tradable assets in your retirement account). It is different from a notary stamp, which identifies your identity when you sign legal documents.
You may need a Medallion Signature Guarantee when selling, redeeming, or transferring securities such as stocks or mutual funds. If you’re an MMCCU member, we can help! The document should specify what type of stamp you should need, but if you are unsure, check with our staff. We offer this service for free and it typically takes 5-10 minutes to complete. You will need to bring your completed forms along with your identification.
